Scottish National Portrait Gallery
Historic Wedding Venue in New Town
About Scottish National Portrait Gallery
One of Edinburgh's most magnificent Victorian buildings, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery occupies a dramatic neo-Gothic sandstone palace designed by Robert Rowand Anderson, opened in 1889. The galleried interior — its upper arcade painted with a processional frieze of famous Scots by William Hole — is unlike any other venue in the city. After-hours exclusive hire puts couples and their guests alone among Scotland's national portrait collection, with the Robertson Room and Café available for ceremonies and seated dinners, scaling to 220 for evening receptions. Run by National Galleries Scotland, with the same serious operational experience as its sister venue on the Mound.
Scottish National Portrait Gallery is a historic and grand wedding venue in New Town. It accommodates up to 100 guests for daytime ceremonies and 220 for evening receptions. Facilities include licensed for civil ceremonies, exclusive hire and wheelchair accessible.
